Vera Seehausen, M.A. German Studies and Book and Library Science, has been working at the Institute for the History of Medicine and Ethics in Medicine (Charité) since 2000, where she is responsible for the collection and digital media as well as for the website, after having held various positions in the book trade and publishing. She is also a freelance editor and association organizer.
Current task
The Library & Collection Medical Humanities of the Institute includes a diverse and valuable scientific collection, which is being refined in its structure since 2020 with the aim of improving accessibility for science, research and the interested public. Existing catalogs, data, and digitized materials will be processed for a new web presence and brought up to uniform standards.
Main focus
- Cataloguing and recording of collection holdings (database management Goobi)
- Documentation of holdings and clarification of rights (provenance research)
- Support for in-house presentations and publications
- Website maintenance
